Description:
The Mission Critical Implementation Specialist (MCIS) provides technical and support services, including direct oversight and governance, to Enterprise Risk Projects at Energy Northwest. This role ensures project deliverables are executed with quality, safety, on schedule, within budget, and in the most effective manner possible. A background in civil and/or mechanical disciplines is required.
Responsibilities:
- Review key project documentation to identify strategies for improving schedule performance, quality, and resource efficiency.
- Validate the quality of all Work Order Tasks (WOT) associated with assigned scope prior to field activities.
- Review, comment, and provide improvements to testing and acceptance plans.
- Identify activities and processes that would benefit from mock-ups and provide guidance on their implementation.
- Communicate personal and industry Operating Experience and develop response strategies.
- Serve as the ASME PIC for Section XI Repair & Replacement Plan work scope.
- Maintain broad knowledge of associated codes, standards, innovative technologies, and industry trends.
- Provide timely and candid feedback to Project Managers and Department Management.
- Oversee shop or field activities, ensuring they progress against the approved project strategy.
- Coordinate resources and collaborate with vendor resources to remove roadblocks.
- Attend key strategy meetings with the Project Manager.
Required Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree in a related field or business AND 10 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or business AND 12 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND 14 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
- High School Diploma/GED AND 16 years of mechanical experience in a nuclear, steam-cycle, and/or regulated industrial environment.
Desired Education and Experience:
- Proven experience in construction management.
- Experience in multiple refueling outages at a commercial nuclear power plant.
- Experience with the production and operational processes at a commercial nuclear power plant.
- Experience with feedwater heaters and internals of feedwater heaters.
- Experience with steam systems and/or work associated with ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel code vessels, heat exchangers, piping, and valves.
- Certifications in mechanical disciplines, construction, or projects.
Required Skills:
- Background in civil or mechanical discipline.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Management Software (Asset Suite, SAP, etc.).
- Familiarity with logic-driven schedules (Primavera, Microsoft Project).
- Knowledge of code and regulatory requirements related to maintenance and field work activities.
- Expertise in error reduction, human performance improvement methods, and cost-effective work execution methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Advanced computer skills.
