Software Automation Engineer

W2 Contract - Preferring Local Candidates.
Looking for a highly motivated Software Automation Engineer who has affinity to research and come up with innovative solutions to the real world problems encountered during software development and test cycles.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain an end-to-end automation test framework for developing and running UI integration tests and create quality dashboards using various tools like Java, Python, TypeScript, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver
- Develop requirement based automation test scripts and participate in code reviews
- Manage the scripts in the GitHub source code management system and run through the Jenkins Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tool
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and validate SW test methods and tools
- Create and manage test environments for script development and execution
- Assess the execution results and generate the execution reports
- Use Jira as defect management system
- Help drive decisions about test automation strategies
- Follow a scaled agile software development process
Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
- An affinity for problem solving, and the ability to understand complex relationships between product functionality and requirements
- Proficiency in different softwares languages and operating systems environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience with developing automation framework in Playwright, Selenium WebDriver or Microservices integration, functional testing
- Experience with Java or Python, TypeScript, JavaScript
- Experience and developing Rest / Soap API test frameworks
- Experience working in an Agile development organization and JIRA
- Knowledge of Github, Intellij or Eclipse
- Basic knowledge of API, microservice architecture, AWS services, Docker, CI/CD, Linux, Shell scripting
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with testing bioinformatics software is a plus
Qualifications:
MS or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, Engineering, mathematics or equivalent degree
