SQL Database Administrator

Summit Technologies, Inc. is looking for a SQL Database Administrator. As a SQL DBA you will provide comprehensive database administration support for our managed database systems. The selected candidate will have expertise in database technologies, environments, and system types, including Database Vendor Software, Homes and Instances, Storage, Memory, Network Integration and Connectivity, Security, Auditing, and Logging. You may work in Ogden, UT; Montgomery, AL; Oklahoma City, OK; or Mechanicsburg, PA. This is a hybrid role requiring you to work on-site one day a week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the availability and data protection of managed database systems at DISA.
• Implement and configure backup methodologies, monitor daily backup job logs, and initiate incident tickets to address failures impacting data restore capability.
• Perform backup and recovery testing to ensure effectiveness, execute database and data recovery in response to incidents or data integrity issues, and assist in application restoration.
• Implement and configure data replication schemes for managed systems to ensure data redundancy and system/data recoverability and provide integration support throughout the lifecycle of managed databases with master applications.
• Execute database manipulation language scripts, perform database integration with applications.
• Conduct database performance tuning to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Database technologies.
• Experience with database integration and performance tuning.

Education:

• Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Certification:

• CompTIA Security +

Security Clearance:

• A minimum DOD Interim Active Secret to start (We will sponsor if needed).
